On April 16, 2026, Amir Hamza, co-founder of the US-designated terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was shot at by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle near a TV channel office on Peco Road in Lahore. He sustained bullet injuries to his arm and was hospitalized in critical condition. This marked his second assassination attempt within less than a year. The attackers targeted his vehicle, which also carried retired Justice Nazir Ahmad Ghazi, host of the religious program 'Noor-e-Sehar' on 24NewsHD — a channel owned by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
